A Hell Hound Fire Cloudburst Colorado Book 1 edition by Siobhan Muir Paranormal Romance eBooks
I picked up this book because it had the word Colorado in the series name. While I thought this book was good for being a short one, I am saddened that I could not have rated it higher. This actually could have been a better book if it has not been for the fact that two-thirds of the story was just about Alex and Sarah having sex. As far as I was concerned I did not really know anything about Alex's abilities as a hell hound other than the fact that he is good in bed. In fact, Alex and Sarah were smoking hot together. The last third of the story did feature a demon that Alex and Sarah had a battle with but it was short. Even though I was not a fan of this book, I did like what I read and will try another book by this author.Product details

A Hell Hound Fire Cloudburst Colorado Book 1 edition by Siobhan Muir Paranormal Romance eBooks Reviews
This is the introduction to a new series by Siobhan Muir.
It was a fast, fun read, introducing the reader to Muir's writing style which I found to be polished. The story premise was good--what drew me in. The world building was well done. The characters were interesting. The erotica was on the scorching end of the heat scale and took up a fair amount of the novella. It is Erotica, after all, but there's a spicy love story there too.

Quick read. Erotica. Five stars.
Book Review- A Hell Hound’s Fire by Siobhan Muir
Sarah Flanagan and her son Liam are being hunted by a demon. Her mate, Malcolm, was killed and she fled to save her son. She has been on the run and a step ahead of the demon.
Alex MacLaren has been appointed to protect Sarah and Liam. He is forced to go back to the house that he built with his own mate, Lisa. He is still reeling from her death eight years ago. His house is next to the river. It is important and easier to protect Sarah from his house by the river. Water confuses demons and he wants to buy as much time as possible. A complication pops up as his wolf self claims her as his true mate. Alex doesn’t believe it. He is a hell hound and she is a normal werewolf. Plus there is the issue of the demon. He is the only one who can protect her and Liam.
I really didn’t like the way this was written. It jumped around too much for me and the banter between the main characters made me roll my eyes. The language the author used at certain parts of the story was what got on my nerves the most. The actual storyline was an interesting one and probably would have made a cool novel. In this short novella things happened very fast and seemed thrown together. I have read better. I give it a 1 out of 5.
This is the first time I have read anything by this author and I liked this story, my complaint is that I wish it had been longer. The characters were interesting and this story started their development, but wasn't long enough to really let them fully form and get a strong relationship established. I like the start that Alex and Sarah got on their "true mate" life time partnership, but she was still wary when the story ended. Also, the town the author has created with the sheriff being a priest of sorts for the Goddess and the people of the town understanding that some of their citizens are a little bit special, really has potential for development. I'm hoping a series comes out of this.
Alex is a werewolf, but with a twist. He's also a hell hound, a wolf that can channel the fires of the Underworld in order to defeat any of it's denizens that escape and threaten the world above. His former mate, also a hell hound but centuries older, left him to go and die by herself eight years ago. On the anniversary of her death, the sheriff calls him in for a special assignment, dictated by the Goddess Herself; to protect a werewolf mother and son on the run from a demon set on killing them and anyone in the way.
Sarah's village was attacked by demons while she was pregnant and they mutilated her and left her for dead. The rest of her pack, including her husband, was killed. She somehow survived and her son, Liam, now seems to have developed some in utero immunity to demon blood and is able to see their true forms, even when others cannot. The demons want them both killed and have been tracking them across the world from Ireland all the way to Colorado.
The minute Sarah and Alex meet, their inner wolves begin howling that they are "true mates", something very rarely encountered, the one true perfect match. Sarah doesn't want to listen. Everyone who's tried to help them fight the demon has ended up dead, and she couldn't have that be the case with a true mate. Alex isn't sure how he's supposed to kill the demon, but if the Goddess assigned this to him personally, then he knows it's within his special powers to do so, and he will do everything in his power to save his true mate and new son.
Heat factor hot.
Alex MacLaren is a Hell Hound werewolf, which is a very rare breed. His chances of meeting his true mate are slim at best. He's asked to protect Sarah Flanagan and her son from a demon who is bent on killing them. His first thought is to say no, but then he meets the feisty Irish werewolf and knows he can't refuse.
I really enjoyed this short story introducing Cloudburst, Colorado, a series by Siobhan Muir. It was fast-paced with memorable characters, tantalizing love scenes and kick-ass fighting. What's not to love? I can't wait to read the other stories in this series.
